Grant dla fundacji Autonomia i Ośrodka Badań nad Mediami oraz zaproszenie na wykład prof. Michelle M. Morkert

Miło nam poinformować , że fundacja Autonomia oraz Ośrodek Badań nad Mediami – jako partner projektu – otrzymaliśmy dofinansowanie z Konsulatu Generalnego U.S. w Krakowie na realizację projektu „Critical thinking skills and media literacy – young leaders for safety and justice”. Projekt będzie realizowany w latach 2018-2019 i przewiduje m.in.: przygotowanie programu edukacyjnego dla młodzieży z obszaru krytycznej analizy przekazów medialnych i idei konsentu, szkolenia dla liderów i liderek ze środowisk studenckich z wykorzystaniem autorskiego programu, produkcję własnego filmu, a także przygotowanie i przeprowadzenie „Tygodnia Konsentu” na krakowskich uczelniach.

Projekt zostanie zainaugurowany przez wykład prof. Michelle M. Morkert*, „Beyond the Hashtag:  Making Sense of #MeToo and #TimesUp” (24 października 2018, sala 549, Podchorążych 2).

*Michelle M. Morkert, PhD is Professor of Women’s and Gender Studies and Interdisciplinary Studies.  She is the founder and Coordinator of the Women’s and Gender Studies Program at Concordia University – Chicago and the current Director of the Center for Policy and Social Justice.

Dr. Morkert is a Fulbright Scholar who taught gender studies at University of Zadar in Croatia and is an active transnational scholar with research experience in Guatemala, Peru, and, most recently, in the Balkans.  In addition to face to face and online course development, Professor Morkert’s current research includes global analyses of gender studies in higher education; activism around gender, militarism, and human rights; and critical whiteness studies in U.S. perspectives.  Within the context of her undergraduate teaching, Dr. Morkert uses intersectional theory to investigate the ways that gender norms are influenced by and reinforced through popular culture.
